WInged REusable Sounding rocket "WIRES #014"

The upper and lower parts of the aircraft have been eliminated, and multiple parts have been integrated to contribute to weight reduction

WInged REusable Sounding rocket "WIRES" is a winged rocket experimental vehicle developed by SPACE WALKER, a venture company spun off from Tokyo University of Science, for the purpose of flight demonstration of a navigation, guidance and control system. The fuselage, main wings and tail are made of CFRP, and the nose is made of GFRP for radio wave transparency. In addition, the original semi-monocoque structure was changed to a monocoque structure, and the upper and lower parts were eliminated and molded as a single unit, contributing to weight reduction. A launch experiment was conducted in 2020 and flight data was successfully obtained. Currently, development of the expanded technology demonstration vehicle WIRES #015 is underway, and Toray Carbon Magic has been supporting the design, manufacturing and testing of the aircraft structure since 2011.
